David is the CEO and joint founder of Zenith Investment Partners (Zenith), which was established in October 2002. He has overall responsibility for the management of the broader Zenith Group but also remains closely involved in servicing the company’s investment consulting clients with portfolio construction, management and monitoring advice.
He has a wealth of investment industry experience acquired over his extensive career. Prior to establishing Zenith, David held senior positions within the financial services industry including IWL Ltd (Head of Research), an ASX listed company in which he was also a significant equity holder. Past roles include Associate Director and Head of Managed Funds research at Lonsdale Limited and an analyst with the Advisor Group, a national financial planning group.
David is also a former practitioner lecturer of the Securities Institute of Australia (now FINSIA).

Ben Davis is a Partner at Zenith and has over 21 years industry experience.
Ben is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) and is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) and the Chartered Alternatives Investment Analyst Association (CAIAA). In 2008, Ben was awarded the BlackRock sponsored CIMA Scholarship for Retail Managed Funds and Master Trust Research Analysts. Since joining Zenith, Ben has been involved in leading manager reviews across a broad range of asset classes including international equities, fixed interest, mortgages, property and alternatives. Ben has completed onsite manager reviews in several of the world’s major financial capitals across the US, Europe and Asia. Ben has also specialised in portfolio construction and the formulation of customised approved product lists for financial advisers, dealer groups and master funds and wrap account providers. This role involved chairing investment committee meetings and presenting portfolio updates to these clients on a regular basis.
Ben previously held a role as a Senior Investment Analyst at IWL Ltd, where he was a pivotal member of the manager review team. Ben commenced his finance industry career in a project management role at Bridge Information Systems, a global financial software provider, where he helped establish the software provider's presence in the Asia/Pacific region.

Bringing a diverse background and passion for investments to better serve clients
Steven joined Zenith Investment Partners as an investment analyst within the fund manager research team. Before moving across to Consulting in 2015, Steven spent almost 8 years conducting manager reviews across a broad range of asset classes, both domestically and around the globe. In his latter years he specialised in fixed income manager research, finishing his tenure as Head of the Income Team.
After joining Consulting, he assumed client-facing responsibilities, working closely with various advice practices. This largely involved participating in investment committee meetings and presenting portfolio updates on a regular basis. In early 2019, he was appointed Head of Consulting, taking on oversight of the team and investment process.
Prior to joining Zenith, Steven worked in the retail pharmacy industry as a practicing pharmacist. Steven has completed all 3 levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program. He has also completed both levels of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) program.

Damien is Head of Asset Allocation and is responsible for providing investment strategy and dynamic asset allocation services to clients. In 2003, he co-founded Heuristic Investment Systems (Heuristics) which provided investment strategy, economic analysis and asset allocation research and advice to fund managers, industry funds, wealth managers, asset consultants and financial planning groups. In March 2021, Heuristics became part of the Zenith Group. Previously, Damien was Chief Investment Officer with HSBC Asset Management Australia, where he spent 10 years overseeing investment strategy, asset allocation, and managing fixed interest and currency portfolios. He has over 30 years’ experience in funds management, economics and finance and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Melbourne and a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University.

Shailesh has significant financial services and investment markets experienced. Prior to joining Zenith, Shailesh spent over 11 years at Lonsec, where he was most recently Deputy Head of Active Manager Research and Manager, Australian Equities. Shailesh was involved in research effort across a number of sectors, including, Australian equities, global equities, global emerging markets, responsible investment and multi-asset sectors. Prior to joining Lonsec, Shailesh was a Credit Analyst at National Australia Bank.

Since joining the Consulting team, James has focused on capital markets and asset class research as key inputs for portfolio construction.
James joins Zenith after two and a half years as an Associate Financial Adviser with financial planning firms Perpetual Private and Wattle Partners (formerly Sornem Private Wealth).
James brings to Zenith a unique skill set that combines investment research and first-hand knowledge of the research needs of our consulting clients.

Calvin joined Zenith in July 2020 in the Consulting team where he is responsible for asset class research, portfolio construction and client relationship management.
Most recently, Calvin worked as an Investment Analyst at Lonsec within the managed funds research team. In this role, Calvin’s primary responsibility involved assessing a range of financial products across both quantitative and qualitative metrics and writing detailed research reports.

Bronwen commenced her career with Zenith as a Senior Investment Analyst before being appointed Head of Research in 2012. She held the position of Head of Research for seven years and is now the firm’s General Manager. Bronwen has over 26 years experience in the investment industry, specialising in the research and evaluation of equities investment managers and the provision of advice to a wide range of clients.
Prior to joining Zenith, Bronwen held senior analyst roles with several firms, including: the Future Fund, Lonsec, and Russell Investments. Bronwen has worked in Melbourne, Sydney and the USA.

Dugald is Head of Responsible Investment & Real Assets, focusing on the delivery of the Group's responsible investment offering and managing real assets research (primarily real estate and infrastructure). He is also Chair of Zenith's Responsible Investment Committee. Dugald has spent more than 20 years in the investment research industry and has expertise across a wide range of asset types, strategies and investment structures.
Before joining Zenith, Dugald was an Associate Director at Property Investment Research, where he was responsible for the operational management of the business in the research and ratings of investment vehicles across property and agribusiness in both debt and equity. Prior to this, Dugald was a Senior Investment Analyst with a boutique provider of research into Australian agribusiness funds.
Dugald’s in-depth knowledge across his specialised fields has resulted in him being regularly sought as an industry commentator in a wide range of national media publications, industry journals and conferences.

Rodney has over 21 years experience in the investment management industry spanning private client advice, investment consulting, manager research and funds management.
Rodney is responsible for leading Zenith’s Alternatives and Global Fixed Interest research coverage, which includes a diverse mix of absolute return strategies and more complex unconstrained fixed income strategies.
Prior to joining Zenith, he was employed with Man Group for eight years holding the position of Research Manager with Man Australia. This position provided Rodney with direct exposure to a range of hedge fund strategies with a specialisation in managed futures. Rodney’s background in financial services has included an Investment Consultant role at Intech Investment Consultants, followed by a Senior Investment Analyst role at IWL Limited.

In his position as Sector Head, Andrew manages a team that covers Multi-Asset, Real Return and Australian Fixed Income, and he also sits on our Compliance Committee. Andrew has in-depth knowledge across a broad range of core asset classes, with specialisation in Multi-Asset and Fixed Income. With over 20 years’ industry experience spanning research, consulting, financial advice, audit and management accounting Andrew brings a breadth of knowledge and experience that he uses to guide and mentor the team.
Before joining Zenith, Andrew was an Associate Director and Head of Multi-Asset at Standard and Poor’s within their Funds Management Research Division, where his responsibilities extended across equities and fixed interest. Previous positions have included Consultant of PPB Advisory and Senior Research Manager at Pitcher Partners.
With a passion for education, Andrew also contributes time as a teaching associate at Monash University and as a Board Director on one of Melbourne’s leading independent schools. Andrew is currently an Associate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Read (AAICD).

Most recently, she worked at UniSuper as the Head of Corporate Marketing and Manager – Brand & Communications, and was previously Joint Head of Marketing at Bennelong Funds Management.

Joining the company in 2007, Trudy understands our business operations intimately and can now focus on Zenith’s most important asset – its people.
Trudy has a Diploma in Human Resource Management, Certified Human Resources Practitioner gaining her accreditation via the Australian Human Resources Institute and is an accredited Mental Health First Aider.
Before joining Zenith, Trudy was a General Manager - Administration for IWL Ltd and held positions as EA to executives of companies in the food industry.

Manuela joined Zenith Investment Partners in April 2014 and holds a Bachelor of Arts/ Law degree from Monash University. Manuela was admitted to practice in 2004 and brings to Zenith over 11 years of practice experience, five of which have been in-house as corporate Legal Counsel.
Before joining Zenith as Legal and Compliance Counsel, Manuela developed strong experience in the financial services sector after working as a part of the Legal and Compliance team at Vanguard Investments Australia and most recently as Legal Counsel for Emirates Leisure Retail Australia, with a strong focus on corporate commercial legal and compliance matters.

Originally from Tasmania, Alex moved across the Strait to attend Melbourne University where he obtained a Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Accounting and Finance. Alex is currently studying the CPA program and is looking to complete it by the end of 2020.
Alex's role as an accountant sees him perform all day-to-day accounting activities such as the invoicing, the banking and the payroll.
Before joining our team, Alex spent six years at Bank Australia in the Finance department, performing reconciliations and accounts payable. He then moved to a similar role at Smartgroup in 2018 spending two years gaining experience working for a listed company.

With over 13 years administrative and customer service experience, Gemma provides the consulting team with valuable service support including contract management, licensing enquiries, compilation of quarterly portfolio reports and associated scheduling of investment committee meetings.
Gemma commenced with Zenith in a front of house reception role and has demonstrated proficiency to move into a true client service role. Gemma previously worked within the training and education sector in various administrative and client management roles.
With her strong customer service background combined with her organisational and time management skills, Gemma is adept at executing high service standards to our clients.

Vanessa joined Zenith Investment Partners in October 2020 and holds a Bachelor of International Relations/Law Degree from La Trobe University. She was admitted to practice in September 2019, BA/LLB/GDLP.
Through her previous work experience at a boutique law firm and volunteering at community legal centres, Vanessa has gained varied experience in the legal field and evolved her keen interest in commercial law.
Keen to develop her career as an inhouse legal counsel, the financial services sector provides a varied and challenging opportunity where she can continue to broaden her knowledge across both legal and compliance disciplines.
